1. Offshoring/Outsourcing jobs overseas.
If you have been feeling so fly thinking you are very valuable in your organization, read these points very well, perhaps it would stick to your reasoning and change it for good. Some variables usually determine what, if anything, a firm will outsource. Outsourcing occurs within many industries, with the Information Technology industry being one of the most common. With the current movement of white-collar jobs overseas, it is causing a bit of apprehension among domestic workers. Some are asked to train their new “foreign” replacements while others are given the option to move overseas or be without their jobs.
2. Technology/Automation.
Automation is already making people lose their jobs. Perhaps, you have to type this topic on Google and see the arguments online.
There is no gainsaying that in advanced economies, the impact of automation over the next ten to fifteen years could be quite severe. This is primarily due to factors such as salary structure, increased demands and output, as well as payment of salaries. You should prepare for this and make reasonable assumptions that your company may adopt automation technologies in the near future if not now.
Automation would take over the jobs that are routine and repetitive. Once there is a process to it, be rest assured that it would be automated very soon. Where does this leave you and I?
You have to learn to do what a computer cannot do. Be creative or be a top-level executive. We see that managers and executives are going to be needed everywhere, including a whole range of professionals. This includes IT and computer-related professionals but also engineers, scientists, account managers, and so on. Hence, you need to have skills that humans are in the current time frame better at than robots.
Jobs that do not look very automatable are the ones that require some level of creativity or emotional intelligence. So, you can be a creative, just like myself and others and don’t place too much faith in your boss or the company you work for.
Entrepreneurial jobs such as CEOs or human relation jobs such as psychiatrists or legislators are also very random in the way they are done. So, they can’t be easily replaced by automation. However, very few people are into these kinds of jobs. This leads to the next point.
